Doc Gynéco was taken into police custody early Wednesday, December 8, as part of a preliminary investigation for “sexual assault on a minor under 15”. Released the same day, reports BFMTV, the former rapper was heard at length by police from the territorial security of Seine-Saint-Denis.
He is suspected of having committed “criminal acts of a sexual nature” against a 12-year-old girl. The latter and her mother were also heard by investigators.
Released in the evening so that the prosecution could take cognizance of the case in its entirety, Doc Gyneco is not, for the time being, indicted. The Bobigny public prosecutor’s office should decide, in the days to come, on the possible follow-up to be given to the case. The rapper’s lawyer, Mr. Khalifa, has so far declined to comment.
Domestic violence and tax evasion
As BFMTV recalls, the former singer was already sentenced to five months in prison and a 2,000 euro fine last May for acts of domestic violence. In 2008, he was also sentenced to ten months in prison, still suspended, for tax evasion. His first album, Première Consultation, is one of the greatest French hits in urban music and has sold over a million copies.
